History
The year was 1954. The ‘where’ was a closet – 5 phones on a shelf. Responding to calls for – and actually dispatching – local emergency service departments. The next version of Towne was incorporated to provide call center services for medical and commercial clients utilizing the best technology available at the time (it was the 60’s and at the time that was indeed a switchboard).
As time passed and technology advanced, so did our services. The call center equipment used evolved from switchboards to a basic computerized system with handwritten papers. From there it moved to a fully computerized, paperless system with digital lines and switching. Technology has continued its march and now our computerized platform is cloud-based, which has enabled us to meet the needs of our customers in ways we never dreamt of before.
Today we serve individuals and companies all over the country and in ways that never have would have been possible back in the 50’s. Elevator phone and video monitoring, advanced capability care calls, responding to personal alarms of all sorts – and of course, talking to people along the way – just like in that closet almost 70 years ago.
